Lately I've seen a lot more cyclists hitting the famed roads of the Catskill Region. No one can blame them. We have some of the best riding the East Coast has to offer. If you want to be really fit for your next race, group ride, or 2011 fitness goals, you need to be here. In years past, we've been a 'best kept secret', but I'd like to think this site has helped move that fact into the history books. Right now we have more and more cyclists looking to not only pedal a bike, but to actually make something of the whole experience. So, if you are one of these people (local or visitor), you are going to be really happy with your time spent here on a bike.
This summer, get your bicycle kicks during an entire weekend for those who are tired of the same old bike race, pedaling the same old roads, or just tired of sitting on the plain old couch. We have a bike weekend planned for the Central Catskills come August 20th & 21st. We should all be good and fit by then, no? Be sure to put it on your calendar NOW!! You are not going to want to miss this.
On Saturday, August 20th, you and the family - or group of friends will be pedaling the famed Catskill Ride-N-Peak. This is an event that offers rides from 14-100 miles, offers SAG wagon support, and offers regional attraction rest areas for those looking to refill on food, water, or good conversation. The price is right. The place is perfect. The memories won't be forgotten. Just ask anyone who has joined the ride.
On Sunday August 21st, those who know the thrill of racing bikes will have the chance to show their stuff in a race like no other. The Great Catskill Divide Road Race will take you on some of the most remote roads in the Catskill Park, and will test your grit by offering packed dirt roads, along with some unforgettable climbs. The loop is 33 miles of some of the most unique racing you'll ever experience. If you love the Battenkill, you'll freak about the Great Catskill Divide.
We'll have the events up on BikeReg.com soon. We are currently in the paperwork process, and should have it all sorted by the end of this month. We'll also have raffles for free rooms, schwag, and give aways for the first 50 to register for the weekend or those who offer volunteers. So be sure to stop back soon, or follow me on Twitter to get updated as we go along.
Don't buy upgrades. Ride up grades ; ) See you soon!
