I believe we all have the right to be happy. Bikes are fun and make people happy, no doubt.
I believe every child should own a bicycle and not live in fear of having it stolen. In fact, if everyone owned a bike, there should (theoretically) be less bike theft. No?
I believe enlightenment is achieved through the conservation of energy. Not physical energy, but actual energy. Driving a car conserves physical energy, but it took millions of years of energy to make the oil. Get it?
I believe in the teachings of off season cross training, along with early season base training and base miles. I used to be that guy doing intervals in January.
I believe no matter fast or slow, climbing hills is one of the greatest accomplishments a cyclist can achieve. If small children achieve great pride from it, you know it's good.
I believe cycling in a city can have long term negative effects on cyclists. In fact, it probably has long term negative effects on anyone.
I believe we can all accomplish more than we will ever know.
I believe all the riddles of life are answered daily by the undisturbed wilderness. We Catskills cyclists are lucky enough to sneak up on it sometimes by the rolling silence of our wheels.
I believe traveling by car would be a lot safer if you had to ride a bike 100 miles before taking a drivers exam.
I believe roads would be safer for cyclists if DOT personnel had to get to work by bike just 2 weeks out of the year.
I believe dopers should be banned from racing bikes for life. The sport requires too much sacrifice to tolerate cheats even slightly.
I believe national bike advocacy is great! However, real change happens from a local level first. Please sign our petition!
I believe in far too many things to list them all here. Leave a comment below about what YOU believe.
Ride your bike! No excuses.
I believe....you are correct my friend! Very enjoyable read :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. This was inspired by the National Archives project (of course). And after reading the 'Landis Gospel', someone should invest in a confessional on wheels for a 'round-the-country' project for cyclists : )
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading!
